Frederick D. Coffin (January 16, 1943 - July 31, 2003) was an American film actor. He was the son of actress Winifred Deforest Coffin. He appeared in numerous movies and television series. He made guest appearances on the TV Serieses: Murder, She Wrote, L.A. Law, The X-Files and Hunter. One of his most memorable roles was Officer Koharski in the feature film Wayne's World. Haroldson), A Time of Destiny (1988, Ed), Shoot to Kill, (1988, Ralph), The Bedroom Window (1987, Jessup), A Fine Mess (1986, Traffic Cop), Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling (1986, Dr. Weissman), Nothing Lasts Forever (1984, Lunar Shopping Observer), Without a Trace (1983, Officer Coffin), Alone in the Dark (1982, Jim Gable), Dead Ringer (1981), King of the Gypsies (1978, Basketball Coach), and Dragonfly (1976, Walter Craigle). He attended Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. In 1997 he returned to his alma mater as that year's Knight Fellow, one of Western Reserve Academy's most distinguished honors. Coffin died of lung cancer on July 31, 2003 in Los Angeles. (more)
