ISLAMABAD, Aug 30 (APP): Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik has urged international community to fulfill its promises regarding Kashmir dispute and don’t push Kashmiris to adopt violent means again for their just right of self determination. Yasin Malik was addressing an Iftar Dinner Sunday evening hosted in his honour by the Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan. The dinner was also attended by former President AJK Gen. (R) Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan, Deputy Opposition leader in AJK Assembly Malik Zaman, members of the AJK Legislative Assembly and leaders of the political parties outside the Kashmiri parliament. Addressing the occasion Yasin Malik said the world community, after 9/11, promised movements for the right of self determination the world over to adopt peaceful and non violent means for their right and the world community will come forward to resolve their dispute in a just way. He said the founders of Pakistan and India have promised Kashmiris to appreciate our right of self determination and the United Nations has on the record commitments with us. The 62 years long struggle of Kashmiris deserve an active and meaningful role of India, Pakistan and the world community to resolve the issue that has taken lives and properties of hundreds of thousands of people in Kashmir. There is no even a single Kashmiri who has not experienced jail. Millions have passed through insults, torture and humiliation. But still we did not respond violently to the decades’ long violence of Indian forces. Yasin Malik added that Kashmiris may go back to violence if their just right is not appreciated through peaceful means. Prime Minister AJK Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan on this occasion thanked Yasim Malik and assured the people of occupied Kashmir that Kashmiris on both the sides of the LoC supplement each other and together we will reach the target of freedom of the Indian held Kashmir one day.
