Sydneysiders have taken time out to say thanks to their Socceroo heros at a homecoming party in Darling Harbour. Australia's World Cup heroes received a rock-star like reception in their first full appearance in Sydney since reaching the last 16 at the World Cup in Germany 2006. The Socceroos, after drawing 1-1 with Paraguay in an international friendly in Brisbane on Saturday, play Bahrain in their final Asian Cup qualifier in Sydney on Wednesday. Australia has already qualified for the tournament in South East Asia next July, but can secure top spot in its group and a seeding for the event with victory in its final qualifier at Aussie Stadium. Today's event was the final public appearance for the squad after a week in which the Socceroos' World Cup achievements were also celebrated in Brisbane.
