The Great Bear Rainforest, located on remote Roderick Island on British Columbia's central coast, becomes the latest battleground over clearcutting. Named after the spirit bear (a rare, white bear that lives in the region), it's among the last temperate, costal rainforests in the world. Greenpeace wants the forest protected and calls for the end to all clearcutting. In this CBC Television clip, protesters chain themselves to logging equipment, halting work for Western Forest Products, the company that's been logging there for 90 years.
