"There'll Come a Time," composed by Helen Trix who plays the piano accompaniment on this disc, was from "The A to Z Review"....on 10-inch British Victor---His Master's Voice #1302. In the photo that opens the video, Helen is seen on the left; Josephine is on the right. The TRIX SISTERS, Yeiser was their true last name, were very famous in that era in vaudeville when "sister acts, " singing in close harmony, were exceedingly popular. (Check "Duncan Sisters" recently posted.) Older sister Helen---an alto who early in her career recorded for Victor, Edison, Zonophone, etc. as an Ada Jones sound-alike---achieved popularity early in her life. She was a star at 17. She met 14-year-old George Jessel---later a movie star and recording artist---on a train heading westward. He was fully smitten with her and proposed they become a team and play the vaudeville circuit all around the country. She politely declined. He never forgot Helen and mentioned her in his autobiography written late in his life. Both Helen and Josephine were very musical. Both played the yuke proficiently. Helen studied piano, theory, and composition seriously and wrote MANY songs that were published by major houses. Helen was married briefly to a British vaudevillian who wanted to retire to a farm out in nowhere, but she would have none of it and the two parted ways. More biographical information is given in my posted video, "Bless Her Little Heart," soprano solo by sister Josephine, who was a fine dancer and a beautiful woman. In 1926 she married without Helen's knowledge and for all practical purposes crippled their professional and personal relationship. THE TALKING MACHINE is a VICTOR 2 (# 9363), c.1906. Purists will readily notice that the Exhibition sound box was replaced with a later Victrola #2 sound box. The original flower-type horn is in attic storage. I also have an Orthophonic reproducer to use with this machine. This is a one-wind one-play unit that I purchased at age 11 for $1 at Hope Rescue Mission's store in Reading, PA. As is obvious from its surroundings, this machine has been in "dead storage,"
