U.S. wine consumer poll says wine place names should be better protected! Washington, DC -- As the United States is set to become the largest wine market in the world by 2010 there is growing concern among U.S. wine purchasers about misleading wine labels. In fact, about 50% (and in some instances more) of wines sold as "Champagne," "Port" and "Sherry" in our country are not produced in Champagne, France; Port, Portugal; and Jerez, Spain.
