From 1399 till independance ie. 1947 Wodeyar dynasty ruled the kingdom of Mysore. Queen Kempananjammanni Vanivilasa Sanndihana, commissioned a British architect, Henry Irwin, to build this place in 1897.He completed this by 1912.One of the best place to visit. Septemper end, early October will be the correct time to visit. Dasara festival will be celebrated every year during this period.
