Apr. 11 - French military helicopters reported to have opened fire on pirates in Somalia after they freed the crew of a luxury yacht. An unknown number of people are said by witnesses to have been killed in the final installment to the drama after the pirates seized the luxury yacht, Ponant, and held its crew of 30 hostage for a week. Paul Chapman reports. SOUNDBITE: Jean-Louis Georgelin, head of armed forces general staff, saying (French): "There was no shooting when the hostages were liberated. There was negotiation between the ship owner and the pirates. No public money has been spent but during the recovery of the hostages we found some interesting bags so we've recovered part of the ransom probably paid by the ship owner."
