New Delhi, Nov. 20 : The government has decided not to increase the Central Issue Price or CIP of food grains under Targeted Public Distribution System or TDPS scheme. The Loksabha was informed about the government’s decision on 19th November. As PDS rates are lower than the market price and even the purchase price at which grains are bought by the Food Corporation of India or FCI, the Centre foots the subsidy bills.
