Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has observed that practical initiatives should be adhered to, to counter terrorism. The UN forum provided a platform to share the Sri Lankan experience in eliminating terrorism, ushering in democracy while initiating development work. He stressed that their progress could set an example to the entire world. Sri Lanka proposed to arrive at a consensus to hold a conference of Commonwealth Ministers in eliminating terrorism. The Ministers considered the proposal, while Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand, India, Malaysia and Pakistan agreed to this practical approach.
