Tripura, 22 Feb , 2008 : Major political parties including the ruling Communist alliance and main opposition Congress party, held rallies and public meetings on February 21 in India’s northeastern Tripura as campaigning in the state came to a close ahead of February 23 provincial polls. While Congress supporters organised folk songs and street plays in the state capital Agartala highlighting the failures of the 'Left Front' government, the Communists took out a flag march in the city.
