21 Jan 2005 The mild winter in Russia and the Baltic States may be providing some relief to people but not to bears not used to above freezing temperatures. Hunters in Estonia report seeing numerous brown bears months earlier than normal. Irene Quaile Kersken asked Norbert Gerstel of WWF's brown bear project what impact the mild winter has on the bears.
