XXX,(also written xXx) pronounced "Triple X", is a 2002 action movie starring Vin Diesel. XXX was marketed as a James Bond style film for the new millennium and featured similar gadgetry, international schemes and intrigues, villain-sponsored take-over-the-world schemes backed up by doomsday devices, a female co-star/love interest, and elaborate stunts (as Roger Ebert put it, "Why blow up two cars when you can blow up twenty?").
XXX was written by Rich Wilkes, directed by Rob Cohen (who also directed Diesel in 2001's The Fast and the Furious), and produced by Neal H. Moritz for Revolution Studios. The novelization for the movie was written by Mel Odom.
A sequel was released in 2005, titled XXX: State Of The Union, starring rap artist/actor Ice Cube and Willem Dafoe.
Vin Diesel plays Xander Cage. He's your standard adrenaline junkie with no fear and a lousy attitude. When the US Government "recruits" him to go on a mission, he's not exactly thrilled. His mission: to gather information on an organization that may just be planning the destruction of the world, led by the nihilistic Yorgi. Written by Ryan McIntosh
Vin Diesel reunites with the director (Rob Cohen) and the producer (Neal H.Moritz) of the blockbuster The Fast and the Furious. Diesel stars as Xander "XXX" Cage, the notorious underground thrill seeker who until now has been deemed untouchable by the law. NSA Agent Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) forces XXX to cooperate with the government to infiltrate an underground Russian crime ring and avoid going to prison. Betting XXX can succeed where other conventional spies have failed, Gibbons sends XXX to enter this world of crime undetected, using his natural athletic prowess and a whole lot of attitude. Enlisted for a dangerous covert mission, he must combat a clever, organized, and ruthless enemy far beyond the scope of his experience. Written by
