Zwan was an American alternative rock supergroup that was formed by members of The Smashing Pumpkins, Slint, Chavez, and A Perfect Circle. Zwan was started in late 2001 by Billy Corgan, lead singer and guitarist of The Smashing Pumpkins, after the Pumpkins disbanded in December 2000. The band released only one album, entitled Mary Star of the Sea. The group disbanded acrimoniously after their 2003 world tour.

Zwan were a short-lived “indie supergroup” that formed in 2001 and disbanded in 2003. Formed by The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan (guitar/vocals), the band featured Paz Lenchantin ( A Perfect Circle ) on bass, Jimmy Chamberlin (also of the Smashing Pumpkins) on drums, and Dave Pajo ( Slint / Tortoise / Papa M ) and Matt Sweeney ( Chavez ) on guitar with Corgan. The band’s only album, Mary Star of the Sea , was likened by critics to The Smashing Pumpkins ultra-successful Siamese D
