"Who's That Girl" is the first single by American singer-songwriter Madonna from the soundtrack album and motion picture Who's That Girl and was released on June 30, 1987 by Sire Records. It later appeared remixed on the 1991 UK compilation EP "The Holiday Collection" which was released to accompany the 1990 compilation album The Immaculate Collection, on which it did not appear.
"Who's That Girl?" is a song recorded by British pop duo Eurythmics. It was written by Eurythmics members Annie Lennox and David A. Stewart and produced by Stewart. "Who's That Girl?" was the first single released in the UK from Eurythmics' third album Touch and the second single from the album in the United States.
The track is a heavily-synthesized ballad in which Lennox takes the role of a suspicious girlfriend demanding to know who the various women are with whom she has seen her lover associating. The song became Eurythmics' third Top 10 single in the UK singles chart, peaking at number three. In the United States, "Who's That Girl?" was released as the follow-up to the Top 10 "Here Comes the Rain Again" and it climbed to number twenty-one on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video became a heavily-played clip on MTV and further showcased Lennox's gender-bending image. In it she appears as a nightclub singer performing the song (complete with 1960's-era blonde flip wig) and also as a man who is a member of the audience. Stewart appears in the video, flirting and carousing with various women. Although they became romantically linked years later, Stewart's future wife, Siobhan Fahey, appears as one of the women and the other two members of Bananarama also make cameo appearances.
Other "girls" include Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston of Bucks Fizz, Kiki Dee, Hazel O'Connor, Kate Garner of Haysi Fantayzee, Thereza Bazar of Dollar and Marilyn. Ironically Jacquie O'Sullivan appears in the video — she would, four years later, become Fahey's replacement as a member of Bananarama.
In the end of the clip, the female-Lennox is shown kissing the male-Lennox.
"Who's That Girl" was the second single to be released from Swedish pop singer-songwriter Robyn's 2005 self-titled album. It will be released as the fifth UK single on 14 April, 2008. The single's UK release was confirmed by Teletext music section Planet Sound on 30 January, 2008 .
The single was not as well received as "Be Mine!" in Sweden, peaking at number thirty-seven in the Swedish singles chart. The song was the third biggest hit from the Robyn album.
The UK single for "Who's That Girl" will feature remixes from Seamus Haji, Rex the Dog and Drop the Lime .
"Who's That Girl" is the first single taken from Eve's second album "Scorpion" and her fifth U.S. single, whereas it was her debut single throughout Europe.
The single was a moderate success in the United States, peaking at number forty-seven on the Billboard Hot 100, however, in the UK, it became a large success, peaking at number six on the UK Singles Chart.
