What Am I Doing in New Jersey? is United States comedian George Carlin's eleventh comedy album, recorded at the Park Theater in Union City, New Jersey for a Home Box Office special and released on August 15 1988.
Right from the album's opening line, "I really haven't seen this many people in one place since they took the group photograph of all the criminals and lawbreakers in the Ronald Reagan administration.", it is clear that George Carlin had taken a turn towards political observation humor in this installment, with commentary on the Reagan administration scandals that were major news at the time. More Stuff on Cars and Driving continued the theme of observations and circumstances people get into when driving that Carlin had started a few years earlier on Carlin on Campus.
