"Who Am I (What's My Name)?" is the debut solo single from rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg's debut album Doggystyle. The music video directed by Fab 5 Freddy was shot on location in Snoop Dogg's hometown, Long Beach, California and has cameo appearances by Dr. Dre and Kurupt. The song was a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #8.
The song, produced by Dr. Dre, features interpolations of Funkadelic's (Not Just) Knee Deep as its bassline and George Clinton's Atomic Dog in its chorus. Additional vocals were contributed by Jewell and Tony Green. The follow up version of it titled "Snoop Dogg" was released on his album, "Tha Last Meal". The cover artwork is by Joe Cool. Rapper, Jay-Z, lifts the entire first verse, changing little, for "Jigga, My Nigga". He also goes to take the chorus for his song, "Jigga That Nigga".
