The Western Museum of Flight (WMOF) is an aviation museum located at Zamperini Field, the municipal airport in Torrance, California. WMOF is operated by the Southern California Historical Aviation Foundation.
The museum has several rare aircraft among its collection, including the only Northrop YF-23 stealth fighter prototype, a YF-17 both of which are not currently on public display, (a lightweight fighter which was the basis for the heavier F/A-18), and the JB-1 (one of only 3 historical Northrop JB-1 flying wings remaining).
The museum was formerly located at Hawthorne Municipal Airport in nearby Hawthorne, California, but lost its lease in 2006. WMOF re-opened at Zamperini Field on November 4, 2007.
