Western Big Sky is about a group of people who over the course of one day, learn how to make life-changing decisions after spending their entire lives conscientiously avoiding any kind of disruption in their predictable existence. The film centers on Bill, an aimless young cowboy and sheep herder in a small Montana town. Bill passes endless hours at the bar with his eccentric friends, talking about everything and doing nothing. He is also having an affair with the local bigshot's wife. When the bigshot finds out, Bill's life of intoxicated and humorous desperation is disrupted. Suddenly, outrageous events begin to take place over the course of one day. Adding to Bill's newfound sense of urgency to change his life are pressures from the other strange citizens of the town. With gunfights at midnight and shocking revelations, Bill confronts these new forces and knows he must change his life under the Big Sky. With the help of his friends - an emotionally wounded Vietnam vet and a Native-American intellectual - he chooses to leave everything behind and head off to an uncertain future far from Montana. A dramatic comedy with a film noirish feel. Written by Blue Dawn Productions
