Wendi McLendon-Covey (born October 10, 1969) is an American comedian and actress.
McLendon-Covey was born in Bellflower, California. She attended California State University, Long Beach, where she graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies/Creative Writing. On August 10, 1996, she married Greg Covey. She lives in Long Beach, California, and owns three cats.
McLendon-Covey is known for her role as Deputy Clementine Johnson on the Comedy Central television program Reno 911!, a role which awarded her #10 on Maxim magazine's TV's Best Nymphos list. She is a member of The Groundlings and starred in the Lifetime show Lovespring International, which premiered June 5, 2006, and was canceled on December 1, 2006. She subsequently reprised the role of Clementine Johnson in the theatrical release Reno 911!: Miami.
She graduated from California State University Long Beach with a B.A. in Liberal Studies/Creative Writing.
Member of the L.A. based Improv/Comedy Troupe "The Groundlings".
Has been called the "Queen of Improv" by TV Guide for her work on two unscripted shows: Reno 911, and Lovespring International.
Her character Deputy Clementine Johnson from Reno 911! Was listed in Maxim's Top 10 TV Nymphos. "Clementine" was a character Wendi developed at the Groundling Theater, but she wasn't originally a cop. The character of Clementine's common law husband Steed (they had a wedding in season 1 but were never officially married because they never got a license)was also developed at the Groundlings.
