Waiting is the third single from Green Day's 2000 album, Warning, also appearing on the band's Tune in Tokyo EP. It was released as the main promotional single for the International Superhits! greatest hits collection. The song is a love song about a man that has been waiting for a chance to express his love and finally has one. The song is written on the melody of the Petula Clark song "Downtown". Despite an ambitious video and numerous single releases on both Reprise and Adeline records, the single had very little success in the United States.
Waiting is Miz's Swedish debut single. It is the English version for her Japanese single, Waiting For, but the instrumentals are very different. The second track and third tracks are the same songs used on the Japanese single.
"Waiting" is the first single of British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree, released in May 1996. It came in two formats: a regular CD and a 12" vinyl. At the time, the single was intended to promote the forthcoming album Signify.
Waiting is considered the first Porcupine Tree's single for its length, since Voyage 34 and Voyage 34: Remixes are singles of around 30 and 40 minutes respectively that would fit better in the category of EP's.
The song entered all UK indie charts and the UK National chart attracting airplay all over Europe.
Porcupine Tree contributed an edit of "Waiting (Phase Two)" to the film music for the Paul Spurrier's movie Underground, whereas the credits erroneously listed "Waiting (Phase One)".
Waiting was a single from indie band Not Forgotten. It was featured on the WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 game. It was the most used entrance theme on the game.
