"Wait" is a song recorded by The Beatles, from their 1965 album Rubber Soul. The songwriting credit is Lennon/McCartney, and is one of the real joint efforts between the two (Lennon wrote the verses and refrain in F# minor, and McCartney wrote the bridge in A major). . The lyrics, describing the singer's anxieties about his relationship with his girl while he is away, are thematically similar to several other Lennon-McCartney songs, such as "When I Get Home" and "Things We Said Today," written during the period of 1964 and 1965.
The song was originally recorded for Help! in June 1965 but did not make the final pressing. When Rubber Soul fell one song short for a Christmas release, "Wait" was brought back. The Beatles added overdubs to the initial recording so it would blend in better with the other, more recent songs on Rubber Soul.
A cover version was issued as a single by Frankie Vaughan but failed to chart.
"The Wait" is a song by Killing Joke. It first appeared on their eponymous 1980 debut album, Killing Joke. In 1987, Metallica covered "The Wait" on their E.P. The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited and re-issued it on their 1998 compilation album, Garage Inc. An excerpt of Metallica's version appeared in the film School of Rock.
"Wait (The Whisper Song)" is a noted snap song released by Atlanta crunk rap duo Ying Yang Twins off their album U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta). Consisting of a minimal bass pulse and a few finger-snaps, it featured the Ying Yang Twins toning down their usual loud crunk howls for a new whisper approach.
The song interprets a man whispering sexually explicit messages into a woman's ear. The song and lyrics are somewhat similar to "Play" by David Banner, especially considering that both singles are produced by Mr. Collipark. Both songs were released in 2005 and have whispering including sexually explicit lyrics.
The song was parodied by SNL writers Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone, which is a "white" version of it.
"Wait" is a song recorded by White Lion. It was written by White Lion vocalist Mike Tramp & guitarist Vito Bratta.
