"Voices" is a song by alternative rock group Saosin. It is the lead single off their self-titled LP. Two videos have been shot, a live montage released before the album and an "actual video" (Saosin's first non-montage video) shot in January 2007. "Voices" has reached #25 on the Modern Rock charts. An acoustic version of the song was included as a Best Buy exclusive download of the Saosin LP. It has been performed acoustically on the 97x Green Room and AOL's Sessions Under Cover.
"Voices" is the second single off the album The Sickness by the alternative metal band Disturbed. The song deals with the idea that there are possibly "voices" in our heads, telling us to do the things we do. The song charted at #16 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks and #18 on the Modern Rock Tracks.
The music video showed an office worker who gets plagued by frontman David Draiman. The band is also seen performing in a concert which takes place inside the office worker's head. Throughout the video, the man faces various scenarios which may involve hostile behavior and hearing "voices".
"I was watching the Discovery channel one night and there was a program on about serial killers. About the theory that they had these internal voices telling them to, maim, kill, steal or whatever it is that they had done, but that is no different from everyone else we have the same voices in our head, we just choose not to listen to them." ~David Draiman
