Underworld is a 2003 action-horror film about the secret history of vampire and werewolves, where the latter are referred to as "Lycan" as an abbreviated form of lycanthrope. It is the first film in the Underworld series. The main plot revolves around Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a vampire "Death Dealer", or one who hunts Lycans, a job she is extremely good at due to her hatred for the whole species, whom she believes to have killed her entire family. She finds herself attracted to a medical intern, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), after saving him from the Lycan master Lucian (who bit Michael and infected him with the Lycan virus), and must decide whether to do her "duty" and kill him or to risk her life to save him. This movie has many parallels as a dark Romeo and Juliet tale.
Underworld (aka Transmutations) is a poorly-received 1985 British horror film, written by Clive Barker and James Caplin, and starring Denholm Elliott, Miranda Richardson, Steven Berkoff, Larry Lamb, Ingrid Pitt and Art Malik, in which a mad doctor keeps his mutants underground. The film was directed by George Pavlou. The NC-17 rated version of this film was even more poorly received due to the excessive amount of explicit, violent, perverse mutant sex. There were seven disturbing "sex scenes" in this highly explicit version of the film, and it was not released in theaters.
Underworld is a 1927 silent film directed by Josef von Sternberg. Originally, it was to have been directed by Arthur Rosson, but he was fired by Paramount Pictures. It was written by Ben Hecht, adapted by Charles Furthman and Robert N. Lee, with titles by George Marion Jr.. It was produced by B.P. Schulberg and Hector Turnbull with cinematography by Bert Glennon and edited by E. Lloyd Sheldon.
Paramount Pictures initially predicted this film to be a failure and therefore only released in one theater initially in New York. Ben Hecht even asked for his name to be taken off the credits. After strong word-of-mouth, the movie went on to become a hit.
The Underworld series is a series of vampire/werewolf films directed by Len Wiseman. The first film, Underworld, was released in 2003, and the second film, Underworld: Evolution, was released in 2006. A third film, reported to be a prequel, is in development.

ul Bronson: Alright, spill your hatred, tell them I did it. I don't care what you do from now on, Dinah Jackson; I'd rather rot in jail than endure your tyranny longer. Go on, tell them I did it. But I'm through with you, do you hear? Through with you, and I'm free at last!
cy, The Maid: Go ahead, evil woman. But if you call the police and tell them that lie, this will be the end of you. The Lord don't like ugly, and He will punish you sure.
'Nobody helps me -- I help them!' boasts open-handed gangster Bull Weed, handing over what will prove to be the best investment in his high-spending career: a thousand dollars that will put the literate 'Rolls Royce' of vagrants back on his feet. Living it up in the Twenties with the aid of cool but smouldering moll Feathers, the Bull lords it over the law and his rivals alike -- specifically big Buck Mulligan, whose floral-tributes business echoes that of a certain real-life Chicago gangster... Yet Feathers, prize possession and object of envy, proves his weak point; and in the end, Bull Weed will indeed come to need help from others, and more than he has ever needed it before. But can Rolls Royce and Feathers still give it to him? And will the Bull accept? Written by Igenlode Wordsmith
