"Tourniquet" is a song performed by the alternative rock band Evanescence. The song was track six on their debut album, Fallen (2003).
"Tourniquet" was originally written and performed by Soul Embraced, a Christian death metal band, for their 2000 debut album, For the Incomplete. When Soul Embraced guitarist Rocky Gray joined Evanescence as their drummer, Evanescence did their own adaptation of the song. Evanescence's adaptation has a second verse added. Soul Embraced's version is called "My Tourniquet", but it was changed to "Tourniquet" for the three demo versions and Fallen version by Evanescence.
In the demo versions, a clip from Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet is played during the bridge and the line "I long to die!" can be heard. In the Fallen version, Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee changed the line slightly, screaming "I want to die!"
Tourniquet is the second single by the band Marilyn Manson, from the second studio album Antichrist Superstar.
The title track was covered by the cello rock band Rasputina on their EP, The Lost & Found
