Touch Me (The Doors song) (Wikipedia.org)

"Touch Me" is a song by The Doors from their album The Soft Parade. Written by Robby Krieger, it is notable for its extensive usage of brass and string instruments to accent Jim Morrison's vocals (including a powerful solo by featured saxophonist Curtis Amy), and was one of the most popular Doors songs ever released. It was released as a single in December 1968. The song reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1969.

One of the most famous television appearances of the Doors is of the group performing "Touch Me" on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour along with the single's B-side, "Wild Child". During the performance, Jim Morrison missed his cue for the lines "C'mon, c'mon" and Robby Krieger could be seen with a black eye—the result of a bar fight the night before.

Ian Astbury covered the song for the Doors tribute album, Stoned Immaculate: The Music of the Doors.

In Oliver Stone's 1991 biopic The Doors, Jim Morrison is portrayed as having modified the lyrics at a concert while under the influence of alcohol to make the song about oral sex.

It was also featured in the 2003 film School of Rock when Jack Black's character, Dewey Finn (while posing as Ned Shneebly), teaches Lawrence how to play the keyboard. It is included in the film's soundtrack.

At the end of the song, Morrison can be heard saying, "Stronger than dirt," which was the slogan of the Ajax household cleaning company, because the last four chords of "Touch Me" were the same as those in an Ajax commercial and as a mocking criticism of Krieger, Densmore, and Manzarek wanting to accept an offer from Buick to use "Light My Fire" in a commercial. The deal was aborted when Morrison opposed.

The song frequently over the course of over 30 years has gotten a huge airplay status on classic rock radio stations, along with "Light my Fire", "Love Her Madly", and "Roadhouse Blues".

Touch Me (I Want Your Body) (Wikipedia.org)

"Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" was the first hit for British singer Samantha Fox. The song is about her searching for a man. The video featured her performing to a packed crowd wearing ripped denim jeans. During the song she pulls a young man from the crowd and teases him before moving on to someone else.

The song itself is layered with sexual lines, including: "Like a tramp in the night, I was begging for you, to treat my body like you wanted to" and of course the chorus itself, "Touch me, touch me, I wanna feel your body, your heartbeat next to mine, touch me, touch me NOW!".

In August 2004 a cover version was produced by Swedish music artist Günther. The video also features Samantha Fox.

Touch Me (Rui Da Silva song) (Wikipedia.org)

"Touch me" is a house song by Portuguese producer Rui da Silva featuring vocals written and performed by British singer Cassandra Fox.

"Touch Me" is probably Rui da Silva's most popular song, spending one week at the #1 spot on UK charts, the first song by a Portuguese musician to do so, lasting a total of 14 weeks on the charts alone and selling some 300,000 copies. The soulful vocal, trance chords, and deep house groove of "Touch Me" earned Rui an award for Best Single in the Muzik Magazine Dance Awards 2001 , as well as a nomination for Best Breakthrough Artist at the Dance Star Awards .

"Touch Me" originally contained a sample of the Spandau Ballet track "Chant No. 1". Because the sample was used without permission Rui Da Silva was sued by record company BMG and had to give share of the song away. Rui Da Silva Interview. http://www.soundrevolt.com/interviews-5-en.html

Vocalist Cassandra Fox co-wrote the song (Cass writing the lyrics, Silva writing the backing track) hanging out at Silva's studio after the two met when he saw her performing in the West End. Cassandra, however, felt dance music wasn't what she wanted to do, and shortly after the success of "Touch Me", she parted ways with Silva.

Touch Me (Cass Fox song) (Wikipedia.org)

Touch me is Cass' own version of her and Portuguese DJ Rui Da Silva's smash hit Touch Me.

The song was originally a Dance/House song but Cass re-recorded the song with her own backing track for her album Come Here. She originally co-wrote the song (Cass writing the lyrics, Rui Da silva writing the backing track) hanging out at Da Silva's studio after the two met when he saw her performing in the West End. Cassandra, however, felt dance music wasn't what she wanted to do, and shortly after the success of 'Touch Me', she parted ways with Rui Da Silva.

Information of the re-release was posted on her personal web-site. "4 years after the track was originally number one, the track written and sung by Cass with Rui da Silva is being re-released on October 30th. Remixes come from X-Press 2, Tom Neville and Spencer & Hill and have already been getting plays on Radio 1 (Judge Jules) and Kiss FM." Cass Fox (2006). Touch Me (Angel City) (Wikipedia.org)

Touch Me (All Night Long) was a song released in 2004 by electronic dance group Angel City. The band was formed by Zentveld & Oomen.

Touch Me was Angel City's second release after their first hit in 2003 with Love Me Right (Oh Sheila). Touch Me Managed to reach number 2 in the UK dance charts and number 18 in the UK top 40. This was lower than their first hit which reached number 11 in the UK charts. It also samples the chorus from Cathy Dennis's 1990 UK #6 & US #2 hit single Touch Me (All Night Long.

Touch Me was not released in The U.S.

It was taken from Angel City's First Album, Love Me Right, along with 3 other hits:

  • Sunrise
  • Do You Know (I Go Crazy)
  • Love Me Right (Oh Sheila)

The single had the radio edit plus two bonus remixes and featured the video of "Touch Me."

The video featured Angel City's vocalist, Lara McAllen and several dancers dressed in black dancing with chairs.

The release of Touch Me in the summer of 2004 led to the release of the band's next hit, Do You Know (I Go Crazy) as the band was nearly splitting after their first hit but Touch Me restored their status.

After the release of The "Love Me Right" Album in 2005, Lara McAllen left the group to pursue a solo career. However, Angel City unexpectedly released a new single, 24/7, on the 27th of March 2007 for download only. It featured the vocals of Lara McAllen which concluded she had returned to the Group.
