Tom Kennedy (born James Narz on February 26, 1927, in Louisville, Kentucky) is a television game show host who had his greatest fame in the 1960s and 1970s. He is the younger brother of host Jack Narz and the brother-in-law of Bill Cullen, and changed his name to avoid confusion prior to hosting his first national show, The Big Game, in 1958.
Tom Kennedy, (born July 15, 1885, in New York, NY, died October 6, 1965, in Los Angeles, CA), was an American actor best known for his roles in Hollywood comedies from the silent days, with such producers as Mack Sennett and Hal Roach, mainly supporting lead comedians such as the Marx Brothers, WC Fields, Mabel Normand, and Laurel and Hardy.
For over 50 years, from 1915 to 1965, he appeared in over 320 films and TV shows, often uncredited. His first film was a short black and white comedy, His Luckless Love (1915).
Often mistaken as his namesake Edgar Kennedy's brother, he was nevertheless apparently very friendly with the slow-burning comedian, and supported him in many of his series of domestic two-reelers. He continued making films right up until his death, his last film being a western, The Bounty Killer, made in 1965.
He appeared in such films as Mabel Normand's Mickey (1918), W.C. Fields' Tillie's Punctured Romance (1928), the Marx Brothers’ Monkey Business (1931), 42nd Street (1933), Bringing Up Father (1946), Slaughter on Tenth Avenue (1957), and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963).
Thomas Kennedy PC (25 December 1874 - 3 March 1954) was a Scottish Labour politician.
Kennedy was born in Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, and became a railway clerk. He joined the Social Democratic Federation (SDF) and soon became its organiser for Aberdeen, standing for Parliament in Aberdeen North in 1906 and January 1910. He supported the SDF's formation of the British Socialist Party (BSP) and became its National Organiser in 1913, but in 1914 left to fight in World War I. As a supporter of the War, he left the BSP in 1916 to join the new National Socialist Party. He became the editor of the Social Democrat, successor to Justice.
His first wife, Christian Farquharson, whom he married in 1905, was also a socialist, having attended the International Socialist Congress in Paris in 1900. She died in 1917 and he subsequently remarried.
He was Labour Member of Parliament for Kirkcaldy from 1921-1922, from 1923-1931 and from 1935-1944 and was Scottish Labour Whip in 1921-1922 and from 1923-1925. He served in Government as a Lord Commissioner of the Treasury in 1924, in opposition as Deputy Chief Whip (1925-1927) and Chief Whip of the Labour Party (1927-1931) and again in Government as Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury from 1929-1931.
He was appointed a Privy Counsellor in 1931.
Tom Kennedy (born in St. John's, Newfoundland on April 12, 1952) is a Canadian journalist. He is currently the London bureau chief for CTV News. Kennedy was educated at Ryerson University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, as well as educated in St. John's and Scotland. He began working at the Globe and Mail as an editor and reporter. He then moved on to the CBC in 1976 where he spent the next twenty-five years. He has been working in London since March 2001. He has won numerous awards including two Gemini Awards. He is also bilingual.
Tom Kennedy (born June 24, 1985) signed for Rochdale in June having spent most of his career with the Manchester based, Bury FC. The 'attacking' left back was released by Bury manager Chris Casper after what can only be described as a conflict of personalities between Kennedy and Casper.
Kennedy has reportedly signed a two year contract at Spotland and replaces Alan Goodall, who has signed for Luton Town. He made 158 appearances for Bury scoring six times.
He is the brother of Jack Narz.
Once a boxer, this brawny character actor began his film career early in the silent movie era. He frequently played big, dumb, likable, working-class types as in Case of the Stuttering Bishop, The (1937). He also worked with W.C. Fields, The Marx Brothers, and Laurel and Hardy in a career that lasted until his death at the age of 80.
