This is the Life is the number 1 debut album by Amy Macdonald. The album was released on July 30, 2007 in the UK on Vertigo Records. The first single from the album was "Poison Prince" (a limited release) while the debut first full single was the sucessful "Mr. Rock and Roll". Following singles "L.A.", and "This Is the Life" have all charted reasonably well in the UK. The confirmed fourth single is "Run". As of 16 December 2007, over 300,000 copies have been sold in the UK, certifying it Platinum. On January 13 2008 the album jumped five places to the number 1 spot on the official UK Albums Chart.
