This Is Hell, or TIH for short, are a Long Island, New York-based hardcore punk band. The band formed from members of Long Island acts Subterfuge, Scraps And Heart Attacks and The Backup Plan when both broke up and went on unofficial hiatus in the summer of 2004. The band quickly self-released a 4-song demo EP and followed it up with another EP the following summer on Long Island record label State of Mind Recordings. In early March of '07, TIH will be touring around all of North America with the established Winnipeg Hardcore Band Comeback Kid.

This Is Hell was Awarded the Title of " 2007 Strongest Band Of The Year" In April while on tour w/ Comeback Kid, Endwell, It Dies Today and Parkway Drive. This award was received due to their rigorous pre-show workout routines.

The band is known for extensive touring and high energy concerts. For this reason they were added to the 2007 Sounds of the Underground tour. A tour that featured many hardcore and metalcore bands that rivaled Ozzfest.

This is Hell are not going down in history for standing still. Formed on Long Island, New York in June of 2004, This is Hell made an immediate impact on the hardcore scene, and have since shown no signs of slowing down.
