The Wrong Coast is a Canadian stop-motion animated show which currently airs on Teletoon. Featuring two anchors for a fake Hollywood gossip show with fake news and features, the show features a lot of parodies on Hollywood movies, but often utilizes real stars. The theme song is performed by They Might Be Giants.
The Wrong Coast was produced by Blueprint Entertainment and Curious Pictures with stop-motion animation provided by Cuppa Coffee. The series initially was to air for American audiences on AMC in December 2003 but never did, then in Canada on The Movie Network in April 2004. Teletoon has rebroadcast the original season in Canada since 19 August 2005. A French-dubbed version of the series, titled La Côte Ouest, aired in Canada on Télétoon.
With no further episodes produced or announced, the show was apparently cancelled after its only season.
The first season (6 episodes) were produced in New York City for American Movie Classics. The second season 2004 (26 episodes) was produced in Canada.
The first season of six episodes were produced in New York City by Contractual Obligation Productions and the second season of episodes were produced in Canada.
During the preview of "The Onion Ring", in the police headquarters, the man is reading a newspaper where the headline reads "Infy Awards Inspire Jealousy". This is referring to a different episode where Debbie wins an Infy Award that Jameson thinks he won and becomes extremely jealous.
