The Walk (Eurythmics song) (Wikipedia.org)

This article is about Eurythmics' single; for the 1983 single by The Cure, see The Walk (The Cure song).

"The Walk" was Eurythmics' fourth single, produced by band member David A. Stewart and Adam Williams (ex-bassist of The Selector), self-funded at Eurythmics own 8-track home studio. As with their previous three singles, it was a commercial failure.

The group filmed their second music video to accompany the single. As yet, this video has not been released commercically.

All the non-album tracks from this single were omitted from SonyBMG's remastering of 2005, and remain unavailable on CD. "Invisible Hands" had been the working title for what became the group's Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) album, but in the end was dropped from the album altogether.

Walk (song) (Wikipedia.org)

"Walk" is one of Texas heavy metal band Pantera's most popular and influential songs from the 1992 album Vulgar Display of Power.

The song is about having one's boundaries respected, and knowing when to let someone be or knowing when you're not wanted. There's also a theme of anti-conformity (You can't be something you're not, Be yourself by yourself stay away from me). "Walk's" 12/8 time signature creates a distinctive "walking" rhythm and it contains one of guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's most famous riffs and solos. A live performance of "Walk" is included on Official Live: 101 Proof, and the studio version is also on the band's greatest hits album, The Best of Pantera: Far Beyond the Great Southern Cowboys' Vulgar Hits!.

The Walk (The Cure song) (Wikipedia.org)

"The Walk" is the name of a 1983 single by The Cure. It later appeared on their album Japanese Whispers. "The Walk" is known to be the only Cure song that Robert Smith's mother liked up to that point. It was also a successful commercial single, peaking at #12 in the UK.

One of the three B-sides is "Lament" which is a re-recording of a promo-single released in late 1982 for the Flexipop magazine. Unlike the earlier version, which was garbled and experimental, the lyrics are understandable and the music flows more.

The Walk (The Time song) (Wikipedia.org)

"The Walk" opens side 2 of The Time's second album, What Time Is It?. Recorded for the album at Sunset Sound in January 1982, the song was produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince with Morris Day later adding his lead vocals and Vanity 6 providing some backing vocals.

The funk song opens with a brief drum fill and has several throughout the song, along with drum machines. The beat is somewhat of a march, which is emphasized by Day during the song's break by mimicking an army chant. The "walking" bass of the song is perhaps inspired by the song's title. The keyboards take an important roll, as well as plenty of rock guitar. Despite the song being performed nearly entirely by Prince, several band members are called out throughout the song (Jellybean Johnson and Terry Lewis) giving the song a live feel. The ending of the song is a humorous conversation between Morris Day and one of the Vanity 6 members. Prince himself also makes an appearance as an Italian club owner.

The U.S. 7" single was backed with the album's brief "OnedayI'mgonnabesomebody", while the Japanese 7" had "777-9311" as the B-side. The 12" single had "I Don't Wanna Leave You" and an edit of "The Walk" as B-sides.

"The Walk" reached #24 on the R&B charts and became one of The Time's signature numbers. The fan-favorite is played at nearly all of their concerts.

The Walk (Hanson album) (Wikipedia.org)

The Walk is an album by American pop group Hanson. It was released on July 24, 2007 in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and on April 30, 2007 in the UK and on February 21, 2007 in Japan. Being the second release of the band's own independent label, 3CG Records, this record is said to be (by the band) much heavier and different than Underneath.
