The Road to Hong Kong (Wikipedia.org)

The Road to Hong Kong (1962) was the last in the long-running Road to... series and the only episode not produced by Paramount Pictures. Regular stars Bing Crosby and Bob Hope returned, but the leading lady was now Joan Collins rather than Dorothy Lamour. Lamour made a cameo appearance as herself late in the film and other cameos are provided by David Niven, Peter Sellers, Roger Delgado, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin.

The plot involves espionage and rockets, being reminiscent of Dr. No and hence is part of the spy craze of the 1960s.

Although the movie features the same kind of antics and gags as previous episodes, with all characters trying their utmost to help each other, the film was not as well-received as its predecessors.

The famous transsexual April Ashley appeared in this film, but her credit was pulled after the press revealed this.

Bob Hope and Bing Crosby return as Con-men Chester Babcock and Harry Turner, in the last of their road movies. When Chester accidentally memorizes and destroys the only copy of a secret Russian formula for a new and improved rocket fuel, they are thrust into international intrigue, trying to stay alive, and keep the formula out of enemy hands. Written by Brian W Martz

This is the final Hope and Crosby movie. They play Chester and Harry, two hucksters. When Chester loses his memory, they are told that his only hope is to go to a lamasery where they have an herb that can not only restore one's memory but enhance it. Now through a case of mistaken identity they get there hands on some sensitive material and the only copy of it is in Chester's head. But unfortunately for them the high lama sent someone to get the herbs back thus making it impossible for to get the information. And the people who want it are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com
