The Pope of Greenwich Village is a 1984 American film starring Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Daryl Hannah, Geraldine Page, Kenneth McMillan and Burt Young. Page earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. It was adapted by screenwriter Vincent Patrick from his novel of the same name. It was directed by Stuart Rosenberg.
Charlie and his troublesome cousin Paulie decide to steal $150000 in order to back a "sure thing" race horse that Paulie has inside information on. The aftermath of the robbery gets them into serious trouble with the local Mafia boss and the corrupt New York City police department. Written by Grant Hamilton
"Little Italy" in New York: Charlie and his cousin Paulie aren't lucky job-wise. Charlie is cool, but Paulie's maroonic behavior constantly brings them in trouble.
