The Dentist is an American horror film released in 1996. It was directed by Brian Yuzna and written by Dennis Paoli, Stuart Gordon and Charles Finch. The film stars Corbin Bernsen as Dr. Alan Feinstone, Linda Hoffman as Brooke Feinstone and Ken Foree as Detective Gibbs.
The Dentist was followed by The Dentist 2 in 1998, also starring Corbin Bernsen as the titular doctor.
The Dentist (1932) was one of four short films W.C. Fields made with the "king of comedy," Mack Sennett, at Paramount. Although Sennett was near the end of his career, he found good use of the new medium of talking pictures for comedy, as the film demonstrates. It was directed by Leslie Pearce from a script by Fields himself. The film has running time of 20 minutes and has been released on VHS and DVD.
The participants of this film are disguised. The woman wears a wig and the "dentist" a false beard.
A copy of this film survives with the Kinsey Institute of Sexual Research. Frame enlargements have been reproduced in the book Hollywood Babylon II by Kenneth Anger.

After dealing with an amorous iceman and playing slapstick golf, a dentist treats assorted comic patients, including an unintentionally suggestive session with the sexy Miss Mason. Written by Rod Crawford
Dr. Feinstone has everything, a beautiful wife and a successful career in dentistry; but when he discovers his wife's affair, he realizes that behind every clean, white surface lies the stench of decay. Having gone insane, he enacts cruel dental torture on his patients. Written by Jason Borchers
Dr. Allan Feinstone had everything. A beautiful wife, a huge house, and a wonderful job of being a dentist. That is, until he finds out that his wife is having an affair with the pool boy, and now his mind has snapped. Any plaque, tooth decay, or bad breath can set off his mind, and now if you have a trip to the dentist, you better cancel it, unless you want to be dentally tortured. Written by harnquad
