The Comeback (also known as The Day the Screaming Stopped) is a 1978 British horror film. It stars Jack Jones as a troubled pop singer Nick Cooper who returns to England to resume his career, only to be tormented by the ghost of his murdered wife. The film is directed by Pete Walker.
The role of Linda Everett was offered to Kim Basinger.
Director Pete Walker (I) initially offered the role of Nick Cooper to Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry and intended to shoot the film in the U.S.
Ruddy Gayle, a first generation Jamaican American living in the Bronx borough of New York City, has aspirations of making it as a reggae singer, but is constantly being held back by something from the past of which he isn't fully aware.
