The Collector is the title of a 1963 novel by John Fowles. It was made into a movie in 1965.
The Collector is a Canadian supernatural drama television series about a man attempting to help save people who have bargained their souls with the Devil. After over 600 years of "collecting" the souls of people at the end of their 10-year deals, Morgan Pym (Chris Kramer) negotiates with the Devil for the ability to aid the damned in redeeming themselves rather than sending them to Hell. Under the Devil's mocking gaze, Morgan assists his "clients" in undoing the damage their deals have done by shifting good luck towards themselves and away from others.
The series is set in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where it was also filmed. CHUM cancelled the program, but a number of fans are campaigning for a revival through internet petitions and mailing/emailing. On his blank">blog on the show's official website, creator Jon Cooksey has stated that the show is being sold for US _syndication in Fall 2007 and that Canadian and international DVD releases should follow in late 2007 and beyond. He has also indicated the possibility of new episodes if its US run is successful.
Centuries ago, Morgan Pym made a deal with Satan: his soul, in exchange for 10 years with his one true love. After she died, Morgan - desperate to avoid eternity in hell - agreed to become a Collector, charged with collecting souls from those who'd made deals with Satan. Morgan's deal with the devil includes one additional clause: Morgan is allowed 48 hours with each client to try and redeem them before they are condemned to hell... Written by Brian Barjenbruch

Freddie (Terence Stamp) is an inept bank clerk with no future. His only hobby is collecting butterflies, which gives him a feeling of power and control that is otherwise totally missing from his life. He comes into a large sum of money, and buys himself a country house. Still unable to make himself at ease socially, he starts to plan on acquiring a girl friend - in the same manner as he collects butterflies. He prepares the cellar of the house to be a collecting jar, and stalks his victim over several days. Written by Bill Robinson
