The Cheetah Girls have become a brand name, and released merchandise at the height of their popularity.

Four episodes were produced but the show was cancelled before airing. In 2004, it was announced the show was delayed due to the success of "That's So Raven" (2002). Raven (VII) had been reluctant to do two sitcoms simultaneously but was contractually obligated to do one season. The episodes were shelved for a later date. But in 2006 Disney Channel confirmed that the series were cancelled, and the episodes produced would not air.

When Raven (VII) expressed reluctance in committing to the show, Jessica Benson and Solange Knowles were among the people rumored to replace her.
