"A cause" (meaning "Because") was supposed to be the third single released at the end of January 2008 in France, from Céline Dion's album D'elles. However, its success is questionable because radio stations received at the beginning of February 2008 "Le temps qui compte" and "Alone" simultaneously.
"A cause" was written by Françoise Dorin ("Et s'il n'en restait qu'une") and Jacques Veneruso ("Sous le vent," "Tout l'or des hommes," "Contre nature," "Je ne vous oublie pas," "Tous les secrets," "Immensité," "Le temps qui compte"), who also produced this track.
Céline Dion performed it during the French TF1 TV special dedicated to the issue of her album D'elles, in May 2007. She also performed "A cause" on Vivement Dimanche during her visit in France, in November 2007. It will be broadcasted on France 2 in May 2008, during the French leg of Taking Chances Tour.
"A cause" was remixed by Dj Rien, a French producent, compositor and remixer.
There was no music video made for this track.
The song already appeared on the Top 100 Airplay France chart on September 9 2007, without being officially released and peaked at number 76.
D'elles includes also another version of "A cause," called "On s'est aimé à cause." It was recorded later with music by Marc Dupré and Jean-François Breau. Tino Izzo produced the track. This version includes the original lyrics written by Françoise Dorin. They were modified to fit the danceable arrangement of "A cause." In August 2007, "On s'est aimé à cause" was released as a radio single in Quebec.
