The Allman Brothers Band is a band from Macon, Georgia, labeled by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as "the principal architects of Southern rock." Formed in 1969, two years later they were described by Rolling Stone 's George Kimball as "the best damn rock and roll band this country has produced in the past five years."
