The show is hosted by Shane Bourne, who in the past has worked on programs such as the Australian TV variety show Hey Hey It's Saturday, and is judged by Tom Gleisner, who in the past has hosted both The Late Show and The Panel. The format has been sold for recreation in a number of countries, notably in the United States, where the U.S. version began airing on 9 April 2007.
It has been announced by Network Ten that the series will be back for a fourth season in 2008, although Working Dog, the producers are undecided.
Thank God You're Here is a partially improvised comedy television program based on the Australian TV show of the same name, broadcast by NBC. The show was hosted by David Alan Grier and presided over by judge Dave Foley. The pilot was shot on November 9, 2006 and NBC initially ordered six episodes . The show debuted with a two-hour, double-episode premiere on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 9pm ET. It was produced by FremantleMedia North America, with Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Fremantle, Fax Bahr, and Adam Small as executive producers.
The show aired on Mondays for its first two weeks. It was moved to Wednesdays on April 18, 2007.
On May 14, 2007, after the initial order of 7 episodes aired, the series was officially cancelled by NBC.
Thank God You're Here is a partially improvisational comedy, based on the Australian version of the show with the same name. In the show, four guests are placed into a scene they have no knowledge about and have to improvise. The series is hosted by Paul Merton, who also acts as judge and performs his own improvised scene.
