Terrible Terry McGovern (March 9, 1880-February 22, 1918), born John Terrence McGovern in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was a hard punching aggressive boxer who held the world bantamweight and featherweight titles.
Terence "Terry" McGovern was born May 11, 1942, and is an American film actor, television broadcaster, radio personality, voice-over specialist, and acting instructor. He was born the son of Roger McGovern, an actor and advertising copywriter. McGovern and his wife Molly have two sons, Brendan and Anthony, and they live in Marin, California. Although McGovern was born in Berkeley, California, he grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Disk Jockey/Personality - KSFO Radio, San Francisco, CA (1960's thru 1970's)
When he was doing voice-over work on THX 1138 (1971) for George Lucas, he made a blunder and exclaimed, "I think I ran over a wookiee back there". Lucas, confused, asked what he meant by the term. McGovern admitted that he didn't know and added that he simply made it up. Lucas never forgot the cute word and immortalised it years later in Star Wars (1977).
In 1972, published a poetry booklet, "Rod McCroon's Look at the Loud", a parody of Rod McKuen's "Listen to the Warm". It was offered to his KSFO radio audience.
