Taste It (Wikipedia.org)

Taste It was the first single from the 1992 album Welcome to Wherever You Are, by Australian rock band INXS. The song was written by Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence. The lyrics were written by Michael and reflect "the scars" of an accident a year prior to making the song. The lyrics are more personal than what Michael usually writes as the accident affected his brain (he was king hit from behind by a taxi driver and his head hit the concrete). The song talks about Michael's inability to taste and the struggles of coming to terms with losing his sense of it.

The song reached #21 in the UK and #37 on the Australian charts. However, the song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, although it did reach #5 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks.
