Tamara Taylor (born 27 September 1970) is a Canadian television actress. Born in Toronto to a black Canadian father and a white Canadian mother, she is currently appearing as Dr. Camille Saroyan, head of the Forensic Division, in Bones. She also appeared in the CBS medical drama 3 lbs. as Della and the UPN series Sex, Love & Secrets in the role of Nina, both of which were short-lived.
Taylor made guest appearances on NCIS, Numb3rs, Lost, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, Party of Five and Dawson's Creek among other shows. She was in "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." Tamara also played a small role in the movie Serenity.
She made her first appearance in season two of Bones, episode one, "The Titan On The Tracks"; portraying the character of Dr. Camille Soroyan. In the first 6 episodes of season two, she was credited as "Guest Starring". In episode 7, "The Girl With The Curl", she was credited as a main character of the series, appearing in the title sequence.
Tamara recently married attorney Miles Cooley, in a civil ceremony.
Tamara Taylor's career took off when she landed a series regular role on Fox's "Party of Five" (1994). Since then she has appeared in Steven Bochco's "City of Angels" (2000), "Hidden Hills" (2002), "Lost" (2004), "Numb3rs" (2005), "CSI: Miami" (2002), "Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" (2003), and Fox's hit "Bones" (2005). She also had a role in Serenity (2005), the movie spin-off of the cult hit "Firefly" (2002). She made her film debut in the Wayans brothers' romantic comedy Senseless (1998). Within a year, she starred with Halle Berry in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999) (TV) and in Tyler Perry's box office hit Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005). Tamara loves the beach, hiking, movies, books, and her two chihuahuas, Bruno and Miss Pixie.
