Tales Of The Unexpected is a British television series that originally aired between 1979 and 1988, made by Anglia Television for ITV.
The series was an anthology of different tales, initially based on short stories by author Roald Dahl, that were sometimes sinister, sometimes wryly comedic and usually had a twist ending.
A British anthology series featuring tales of horror, mystery and suspense. Most episodes featured a twist ending, and many of them were based on short stories by well-known writer Roald Dahl, who also served as the show's host during its first two seasons. Written by Marty McKee
Quinn Martin was the executive producer of this short-lived anthology series that focused on stories with a supernatural or science-fiction twist. It boasted the typical QM trappings: each act began with a graphic announcing "Act I", "Act II", etc.; expensive-looking production values and location shooting; popular guest stars like Bill Bixby, Lloyd Bridges and Roy Thinnes; narration by "Cannon" star William Conrad; decent scripts; and, of course, all those Ford vehicles.
