Susan Flannery (born July 31, 1943 in New York, New York) is an acclaimed Golden Globe and four time Emmy Award-winning American soap opera actress.
She is known for playing Dr. Laura Spencer Horton on Days of Our Lives from 1966 until 1975 where she met writer and daytime legend William J. Bell. She appeared in the 1974 film The Towering Inferno. She also appeared on the primetime television series Dallas as Leslie Stewart during Season 4 (1980-1981) as well as opposite Kirk Douglas in "The Moneychangers". She has also worked alongside Micheal Jaffe as a producer.
Today, she is known worldwide for playing Stephanie Douglas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful since the first episode in 1987. Flannery is also a regular director on the show, and has twice been nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award for her work.
Susan appeared in 2 episodes of ABC's sitcomn, Hope & Faith in 2004. She appeared with other well-known actors from rival soaps.
Flannery has a daughter named Blaise, born in the mid 1980s. Flannery's interests include sailing, flying, cooking dinner for friends and traveling. She currently lives in Santa Barbara, California.
Earned a BFA in theater from Stephens College in Missouri and did graduate work in theater arts at Arizona State University
Was once a self-proclaimed "X-Phile" (only for the first few seasons).
As she loves to travel, she and her former "Bold and the Beautiful, The" (1987) co-star Ian Buchanan once went around the world and visited Egypt, Russia and China.
Has two Labrador retrievers.
Resides in Santa Barbara, California.
Was supposed to be made a semi-regular guest in Irwin Allen's "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" TV series (1964-1968). However, Flannery was not added to the cast but instead played Adm. Nelson's secretary in one episode and his sister in another.
