Stephen Percy Harris (born March 12, 1957 in Leytonstone, London, England) is the bassist and primary composer of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. In addition, he plays keyboards, sings backing vocals, and is the leader and sole owner of the band. He founded the band as a teenager in 1975. He and Dave Murray are the only members of the band to have appeared on all of the band's albums, and Harris is the only member to remain in the band throughout its duration. He used to work as an architectural draftsman in the East End of London but gave up his job upon forming Iron Maiden. During the mid 1970s he was a youth team footballer for West Ham United. Harris (born December 3, 1965) is an African-American actor who has appeared in a number of films including Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Bringing Down The House, The Rock, The Mod Squad, and Minority Report. He is most famous for his role as Eugene Young on the legal drama The Practice. He has done voice work for the animated television show The Batman. He has also appeared on Law & Order and earlier had a recurring role on Homicide: Life on the Street.
He is the older brother of actor Wood Harris. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to John Harris, a bus driver, and Mattie Harris, a housewife. He attended St. Joseph High School in Westchester, Illinois, a private school known for developing professional athletes. Steve Harris (born October 15, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Houston Rockets in the 1st round (19th overall) of the 1985 NBA Draft. A 6'5" shooting guard from the University of Tulsa, Harris played in 5 NBA seasons from 1985 to 1990. He played for the Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers.
In his NBA career, Harris played in 207 games and scored a total of 1,440 points. His best year as a professional came during the 1987-88 season when he split time with the Rockets and Warriors, appearing in 58 games and averaging 9.2 ppg.
