Soldier of Fortune, Inc. (known by fans as simply "SOF") was a television show created by Dan Gordon which ran for two seasons, from 1997-1998. The show was about an elite team (composed of mostly former military personnel) who performed "unofficial" missions for the US Government.
During the first season, the show dealt with terrorists and drug lords, and often tackled issues such as patriotism and self-sacrifice.
For the second season, the show was renamed Special Ops Force. Andrews and Sheppard left the show. Dennis Rodman and David Eigenberg replaced them, though their "hip" characters and new plots led many to abandon the show, leading to its cancellation.
The theme song was performed by Trevor Rabin (of Yes fame). During the second season, a voice-over by Peter Graves (a Mission: Impossible alum who never appeared in this series) was added.
Soldier of Fortune is a 1955 adventure film about the rescue of an American held prisoner in the People's Republic of China in the 1950s. It starred Clark Gable and Susan Hayward.
Average Shot Length = ~10.1 seconds. Median Shot Length = ~10.6 seconds.
In a world where there are no obvious "bad guys", where governments engage in secret wars and illegal activities that threaten the security of every individual and nation on the planet, a group of highly trained covert military operatives have just joined forces to become SOLDIER OF FORTUNE, an elite crime fighting unit. Led by retired Col. Matt Shepherd, SOF goes where our government cannot and will not venture, to protect national and international interests and to maintain the balance of power. Even in the new world order, people are still up to the same old tricks. Written by Anonymous
Matt Shephard is an Army Ranger, who is more concerned with saving lives than he is with rules, which is why he was discharged from the Army. After returning to his hometown in California, he is approached by a former commanding officer, Xavier Trout, who wants him to form Special Unit to undertake missions that are "unofficial". He recuits Benny Ray Riddle, a former Marine Sniper, Chance Walker, a pilot, C.J. Yates, a former British operative, whose specialty is explosives, and Margo Vincent, a former CIA operative. During the second C.J. and Chance were gone and Deke Reynolds and Nick Delvecchio joined the team. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com
