David Adkins (born November 10 or November 18, blank">Sinbad Biography (1956-) 1956), better known by the stage name Sinbad, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He became known in the late 1980s and 1990s, appearing on several television series and starring in the family-friendly films _Houseguest, First Kid and Jingle All the Way.
Finalist in Ed McMahon (I)'s "Star Search" (1983) talent contest for stand-up comedy. Lost to comedian and Crypt Keeper voice, John Kassir in the final round.
Toured with the Air Force Tops in Blue program, which is a program of active duty Air Force members who perform shows around the world.
Has a son with Meredith Adkins named Royce Beckly Adkins.
Played college basketball at the University of Denver, but athletic career was ended by an injury.
