Sidney Hayers (b. August 24, 1921 in Edinburgh, Scotland, d. February 8, 2000 in Altea, Spain) was a British film and television director.
Among his most acclaimed films were Circus of Horrors (1960), The Trap (1966) and the occult thriller Night of the Eagle (1962). In British TV, his credits included The Persuaders! and The New Avengers; he later directed several American TV shows, including episodes of Magnum, P.I., The A-Team, Knight Rider, T.J. Hooker and Baywatch.
He died of cancer in 2000, survived by his wife, the actress Erika Remberg. He had two children, Susan and Robert from his first marriage, to Patricia.
Sidney Hayers entered films in the early 1940s, working in the sound department, as a focus puller and in the cutting room before he began his directing career with Violent Moment (1959) in 1958. The journeyman director's roster of credits also includes episodic TV on both sides of the Atlantic, a multitude of TV movies and second-unit directing chores on epic films like Night to Remember, A (1958) and Bridge Too Far, A (1977). At the end of his life, he was residing in Spain with his actress-wife Erika Remberg.
