Shackleton is a 2002 television movie first shown on Channel 4 in the UK and on the A&E Network in North America.
Directed by Charles Sturridge, the cast included Kenneth Branagh in the title role, along with Kevin McNally, Embeth Davidtz, Danny Webb and Phoebe Nicholls (also the director's wife) as Lady Shackleton. It was filmed in the UK, Iceland and Greenland.
The film was nominated for seven Emmy Awards, six BAFTA Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

The scene in which Shakleton threatens to throw his gloves overboard if the crewman doesn't take them is based on a true incident. In actuality it was Frank Hurley who wouldn't take them.
